Noise Assessment

KCL can carry out noise assessments and measurements and suggest controls that can help an employer reduce the risk of noise in the workplace.

Our competently trained consultants will provide you with a noise assessment of your premises and assist you in implementing a noise control strategy in consideration of the Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005.

We use hand held sound level meters and the latest Dose Badge equipment for these tests which is unobtrusive and allows your employees to continue work unhindered by the survey. Our survey’s are undertaken by a competent person and would typically comprise the following:

1. Firstly determine the basic production areas, shift patterns, number of Employees exposed and current hearing protection criteria. Undertake sufficient noise measurements to produce a noise map of each production area.

2. Take noise measurements at the operator’s ear position in each production area and calculate Daily Exposure levels. Take a frequency band analysis at various positions in order to identify the effectiveness of existing hearing protection.

3. Report findings in line with the requirements of The Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005 and make recommendations of actions required in order to comply with those regulations.
